BUFFALO, NY- Earlier this season the Canisius men's lacrosse team lost a hard fought battle with Robert Morris. The Colonials scored two late fourth quarter goals to beat the Griffs 11-9. Now the Golden Griffs will have a chance at redemption with much higher stakes this time around.

Canisius will host Robert Morris Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m. at the Demske Complex in an NCAA tournament game. The Griffs won their third MAC title over the weekend and are making their third appearance in the Big Dance.

First year head coach Mark Miyashita played for the Griffs and is thrilled to lead the team to the NCAA tournament. "To do it here where I played and went and really launched my adult life it makes it that much more special to be able to do it," he told 2 On Your Side's Stu Boyar.

The winner of Wednesday's game earns a date with defending national champion and top overall seed Maryland in College Park Sunday on ESPNU.
