FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Jesus Cruz had 17 points off the bench and Fairfield scored a 66-53 win over Canisius on Saturday evening.

Malek Green led the Golden Griffins with 14 points.

Canisius, who drops to 6-4 overall, will host Manhattan for a back to back starting Friday at 7 p.m.

Head Coach Reggie Witherspoon’s Postgame Comments
“Give Fairfield all the credit tonight. Like they did last night, and pretty much all season, they came out and played hard at both ends of the floor for a full 40 minutes. We did not match their compete-level tonight. These back-to-back games are difficult, but you need to be ready to give maximum effort at both ends of the floor both nights. We didn’t do that this evening.”

Scoring leaders:

Malek Green: 14 points

Majesty Brandon: 13 points

Armon Harried: 10 points, 2 assists

Jacco Fritz: 9 points
