BUFFALO, N.Y. — Cornerback Kevin Johnson is meeting with the Buffalo Bills a day after being released by the Houston Texans, a person familiar with the visit confirmed to The Associated Press.

The person spoke on the condition of anonymity on Wednesday because the team has not announced the meeting. CBSSports.com first reported about Johnson's visit.

Johnson was a first-round draft pick in 2015 but never played to expectations in a career plagued by injuries. He was limited to playing in only the Texans' season opener last year and placed on injured reserve after sustaining his second concussion of the summer. A broken foot and a sprained knee limited him to playing a combined 18 games from 2016-17.

Overall, Johnson has one interception in 35 games, including 18 starts.

The Bills have several needs at cornerback, including filling the starting job opposite Tre'Davious White.
