Lake snows have eased, light snow this afternoon

All weather alerts have expired

BUFFALO, N.Y. — After picking up 9-15 inches of snow in the snow belts of the Southern Tier, snow showers are coming to an end. Farther to the north, there’s a few flurries in Niagara County were snow totals were generally in the 2-4 inch range.

For the rest of the day, look for some light snow to develop this afternoon but it should not amount to much as high temperatures climb to around 20 degrees. One more cold night is expected tonight through tomorrow morning. Then our winter weather worries will take a break for a few days as quiet and mild weather is on tap for the weekend and through Christmas Eve.
