CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. — Windsong Radiology is once again partnering with Walden Galleria in 2020 to make their mobile mammography unit available to women in the community.
The mobile unit is now parked in the Walden Galleria parking lot between Macy’s and World of Beer.
Monday is the first time the unit will be available. The complete list of availability for the year is listed below.
- Monday, January 27, 2020 (8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.)
- Friday, April 10, 2020 (8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.)
- Friday, August 28, 2020 (8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.)
- Thursday, October 29, 2020 (10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.)
Women are reminded that a prescription from their doctor is required. If they have not seen a doctor in some time, or do not have one, a Windsong Physician's Assistant will be on board the mobile unit to help. The PA can provide clinical breast exams as well as mammogram scripts on the day of the event.
The mobile unit can also help women with transportation, wheelchair accessibility, translation services and those who do not have insurance.
“Beginning at age 40, women at average risk for breast cancer should have an annual mammogram. Windsong’s Mobile Mammography Unit makes it possible for women to get screened, as they should, on an annual basis,” said Chelsea Giaraffa, Physician Assistant for Windsong Mobile Mammography.
