Bishop Malone welcomes Father Sadjak back to active ministry

Father Ronald Sajdak presided over mass Saturday evening with Bishop Malone at Nativity of the Blessed Mary Church on Harris Hill in Williamsville.

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. — One day after Father Ronald Sadjak was cleared of priest abuse, he has returned to ministry.

Father Ronald Sajdak presided over mass Saturday evening with Bishop Malone at Nativity of the Blessed Mary Church on Harris Hill in Williamsville.

On Friday, Diocese reported that the review board's finding that allegations of sexual abuse of a minor against Sajdak were not substantiated.

The report stated: "Based on the information presented at this time, an allegation of clerical sexual abuse of a minor against Rev. Ronald P. Sajdak has not been substantiated, and Rev. Ronald P. Sajdak has been returned to active ministry as pastor of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, Harris Hill."

The Bishop made an appearance and spoke to parishioners, welcoming back Father Sadjak.

"It is with great joy and relief that I come to you to make the official announcement about the reinstatement of your pastor after a very rigorous and thorough investigation and examination of allegations and the unanimous vote of the Diocesan review board on Thursday afternoon," said Bishop Malone.

Neither the Bishop, nor Father Sadjak were made available to talk to us after mass today.
