Remembering two Buffalo mothers shot and killed this month

Friday at 6 p.m., there were two prayer vigils going on at the same time in Buffalo. They were for two mothers shot and killed this month.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Friday night at 6 p.m., there were two prayer vigils going on at the same time in Buffalo. They were for two mothers recently killed within days of each other.

At the Erie Basin Marina, dozens showed up to remember 31-year-old Lakendra Tillmon. On August 2, the mother of five was gunned down, in her car on Butler Avenue, in front of three of her kids.

On Hagen Street, family and friends prayed and remembered 26-year-old, Santana Anderson. The mother of two young children was shot and killed on Hagen Street on August 4.

At both events, there were similar messages from parents, grandparents, and faith leaders calling on the community to come forward with information that might help police bring the shooters to justice.
