Cuomo sued over $21,000 raise; group calls it unconstitutional

The non-profit group Government Justice Center says the governor cannot have his pay raised during the term where he's elected.

ALBANY, N.Y. — A day after he was sued over the special election for Chris Collins' former U.S. House of Representatives seat, Governor Andrew Cuomo is facing a lawsuit over his pay raise.

The non-profit group Government Justice Center says the $21,000 pay raise that the governor got this year is unconstitutional, because the governor cannot have his pay raised during the term where he's elected.

They've filed a lawsuit that also challenges the pay raise for Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul.
