BUFFALO, N.Y. — A 12-year-old boy from Mayville gave a generous gift to those at Children's Hospital, Wednesday afternoon.
Drake McKane has been collecting donations of LEGO's to give to children at Oshei Children's Hospital in Buffalo. McKane spent some time in the hospital for Leukemia treatments.
He partnered with the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office to make the donation possible.
"Drake wanted to stop by and pass out some LEGO's, since that kept him occupied when he was here for his stay. So, made a bunch of kids happy today, and hopefully made Drake happy too," said Chad Bargar, Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office.
"He got a ride in the Sherrif's car up here. He was my copilot. We had a good time, and have a good time on the ride back."
In total, Drake and the Sheriff's Office collected enough LEGO sets to fill three full cars for the ride up today.
McKane's mother told 2 On Your Side that she wants to thank also the Chautauqua Lake Central School's students and staff for helping gather LEGOs.
