2 On Your Side was the first to break the news when sources told Two On Your Side's Scott Levin about the apprehension.

Thursday afternoon, U.S. officials have confirmed that Paul Ceglia was arrested Thursday morning in Ecuador in connection with the government's ongoing efforts to locate and extradite him.

Above is the part of the official court document from the United States Department of Justice that states Ceglia will be presented in court in Quito, the capital of Ecuador, within 24-hours.

Back in 2010, Ceglia sued Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, claiming they had an agreement that said Ceglia owned half of the social media network. Facebook lawyers said Ceglia fabricated and destroyed evidence to support his claim.

The lawsuit resulted in federal charges against Ceglia, who was accused of mail and wire fraud. In 2015, while Ceglia was serving in-home detention in Wellsville and awaiting trial, he decided to flee.
