BUFFALO, N.Y. - Dr. Eugene Gosy of Clarence now faces charges of conspiracy to commit health care fraud and distribute controlled substances.

The announcement was made on Tuesday morning by U.S. Attorney William Hochul. The charges are detailed in a 114 count indictment against the doctor who has an office on College Parkway in Williamsville.

Gosy Signed Indictment

Dr. Gosy is accused of illegally issuing hundreds of thousands of prescriptions for controlled substance. It's alleged that Dr. Gosy prescribed millions of prescription pills for no legitimate medical purpose in exchange for profit.

Between 2006 and now, Dr. Gosy, according to investigators, distributed controlled substances, such as fentanyl, oxycodone, morphine and hydrocodone.

Dr. Gosy's office was raided by investigators in 2014. Despite Tuesday's announcement, he is still able to practice medicine. He is expected to surrender to authorities in court on Wednesday, April 27 at 2 p.m.
