Western New York nonprofits compete at Pitch 10 event

The $10,000 grand prize winner was For Every Little Handprint, a nonprofit that helps Western New York children living in poverty.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A group of Western New York nonprofit organizations that competed at the Pitch 10 event on Thursday night.

The United Way's Next Generation United group puts on this event, which was the fifth one.

Thursday night at Babeville in downtown Buffalo, they handed out $20,000 in grant money. The organizations make their quick pitches to the crowd, and then everybody votes.

The $10,000 grand prize winner was For Every Little Handprint, a nonprofit started by 17-year-old Olivia Larson, which helps Western New York children living in poverty.
