BUFFALO, N.Y. — A group of Western New York nonprofit organizations that competed at the Pitch 10 event on Thursday night.

The United Way's Next Generation United group puts on this event, which was the fifth one.

Thursday night at Babeville in downtown Buffalo, they handed out $20,000 in grant money. The organizations make their quick pitches to the crowd, and then everybody votes.

The $10,000 grand prize winner was For Every Little Handprint, a nonprofit started by 17-year-old Olivia Larson, which helps Western New York children living in poverty.

2 On Your Side's Michael Wooten has been an emcee at each of these Pitch 10 events.
