Volunteers help build home in the Falls

Volunteers are using their skills, enthusiasm, and good will through the Habitat for Humanity program to work on a new home in Niagara Falls for a single mother and her children.

NIAGARA FALLS, NY - Volunteers are using their skills, enthusiasm, and good will through the Habitat for Humanity program to work on a new home in Niagara Falls for a single mother and her children.

A local construction firm is also assisting in the project to build the single floor home on 60th Street in the city. It's obviously a lift for the family who will move in when it's finished perhaps sometime in December.

"It's an amazing transition from not having anything of their own to finally having the biggest thing that anyone could own," said Claudia Folsom, with Niagara Area Habitat for Humanity.

Folsom says they are looking for semi-skilled volunteers to help with this project, and the renovation of another home on Orleans Street in Niagara Falls. They're also seeking help from experienced construction managers who may be willing to donate their time.
