NIAGARA COUNTY, N.Y. — The man who's going to be leading the Niagara County Sheriff's Office next year wants to hold onto that job.

Undersheriff Michael Filicetti announced Thursday that he's running for sheriff in next year's election.

He's served in the position for almost eight years, and he will be named interim sheriff when Sheriff Jim Voutour retires at the end of the year.

He's the first to declare he's running for the position.
