Two taken to ECMC after Amherst crash

AMHERST, N.Y. — Two people are recovering after crashing their car into a tree and light pole early Friday morning.

Amherst Police say it happened at 12:25 a.m. Friday near Windermere Boulevard.

They say the two men were taken to ECMC for non-life threatening injuries.

The driver, Travante Johnson, 25, of Buffalo, was issued 2 traffic tickets for imprudent speed and not wearing a seat belt.

The passenger, Danay Hardy, 21, of Buffalo, was issued an appearance ticket for unlawful possession of marijuana. 

National Grid was also on the scene to help.
