Inside the new two-level Wegmans in Massachusetts

The 146,500 square-foot store spans two levels and is attached to the rest of the shopping center.

Wegmans stepped out with a new look when it opened Sunday at the Natick Mall in Natick, Massachusetts.

The 146,500 square-foot store spans two levels and is attached to the rest of the shopping center.

It comes complete with a cart conveyor system and an adjacent escalator for customers. Customers have a dedicated mall parking lot, and can use a skyway-style walkway for access to the store’s second level.

It's open 6 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week.

This is Wegmans’ sixth New England store, joining five others in Massachusetts — Burlington, Chestnut Hill, Northborough, Westwood, and Medford.

The store will include a new restaurant concept, Blue Dalia Restaurant & Tequila Bar — a 260-seat Mexican restaurant and tequila bar offering authentic Mexican cuisine and craft cocktails using “market-fresh ingredients.” It’ll feature centuries-old tortilla making, crushed-to-order salsas and an extensive tequila and mezcal selection. The eatery will officially open on May 4.

The store also features The Burger Bar, a casual restaurant counter that specializes in burgers, sandwiches and salads. There are nine other Burger Bar locations around the country, including one in Pittsford.

The store will offer Instacart delivery service, starting May 2.

Wegmans plans to open two other locations this year — One in Chantilly, Virginia, on June 3, and one in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, later in the year. The chain operates 96 stores in all.
