Town of Tonawanda Police officer honored for rescuing dog from house fire

A Town of Tonawanda Police officer was honored Tuesday for saving a dog from a house fire.

TOWN OF TONAWANDA, N.Y. — A Town of Tonawanda Police officer was honored Tuesday for saving a dog from a house fire.

Officer Jacob McCormick responded to a house fire on Ferndale Avenue on September 10.

McCormick rescued a seven-year-old Beagle named Harry from the home. 

The Erie County SPCA honored McCormick for his bravery and quick response. 

Harry and his family were on hand to thank Officer McCormick.
