Special Olympics New York holds regional meet in Tonawanda

Special Olympics New York athletes train year-round for the chance to qualify for the state's Summer Games, which will be held in June.

TONAWANDA, N.Y. — Special Olympics New York held the western region's spring games Saturday at Tonawanda High School.

More than 250 athletes and coaches from Western New York met for the track and field event.

The regional meet began at 9 a.m. and is scheduled to run until 2:45 p.m.
