Scrabble players compete for title in Buffalo

Some of the world's best scrabble players are in WNY this week, trying to spell their way to the title.

BUFFALO, NY - Some of the world's best scrabble players are in Western New York this week, trying to spell their way to the title.

The North American Scrabble championship wraps up tomorrow at the convention center downtown... with more than 400 players from 11 countries.

As you might imagine though... the tournament isn't all that rowdy... though it is competitive.

"We need quiet to think," said Director of the North American Scrabble Championship, Arthur Moore. "The sound you will hear most is the sound of tiles jingling in the bag. The players come here to play and to think, and we demand quiet."

There's plenty of money up for grabs here - winners will take home as much as $10,000.
