BUFFALO, N.Y. — Medaille College announced on Monday that it's ready to begin the $7.5 million second phase of its new athletic facility. Nearly seven acres of land will be turned into a baseball diamond, three softball diamonds and a multi-purpose field.
Medaille will also add women's field hockey to its list of extracurriculars.
“This is an exciting time for Medaille athletics. This new space will allow for a new state of the art home for our baseball and softball teams,” stated Medaille Athletic Director Susan Roarke. “We also look forward to working with community partners to host youth travel teams, not-for-profits and adult recreation leagues who are in need of sports facilities to augment their programming.”
The school just opened phase one of the project in September at 427 Elk Street. It includes indoor facilities and an outdoor turf field.
The school says the new phase will be complete in 2020.
