Cinco de Mayo recognizes the Mexico's victory in the Battle of Puebla, way back in 1862; it's a day most people of Mexico stay home from work, but American's take their Cinco celebrations to another level.
Just look at some of the parties happening throughout Western New York, starting with a 3-day fiesta at Papi Grande's in Amherst. Music kicks off Friday night at 5:00.
Papi's motto is "Life is short, eat more tacos," so if you want to join them this weekend, check out their social pages on Facebook and Instagram (@papi_grandes).
Now, if we're talking about the best Cinco scene in Western New York, Mark Hudson in West Seneca (Weekly Shoutout!) has suggested we don't overlook Don Juan's Mexican Bar and Grill this weekend. And aside from the fact that they sure know how to take a good-looking picture of their fantastic Mexican food, they've also got a full weekend plan of their own for Cinco de Mayo.

And of course, any time we celebrate Cinco de Mayo, it's easy to spot us Star Wars fans who are busy celebrating "May the 4th" and "Revenge of the 5th." Or, you can head over to Lloyds Taco Factory, where they will be celebrating all of the events together with "Cinco Wars."
