Open house planned for North Aud Block concept

Officials are seeking public comment about the site design.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — An open house will be held Wednesday to discuss the preferred concept for the North Aud Block at Canalside.

Officials are seeking public comment about the site design.

Earlier this month, the state released plans for the North Aud Block that would incorporate the area's history, add 200 residential units, restaurants, and retail shops, as well as adding 300 parking spots.

The area, which is bordered by Lower Terrace to the north, Main Street to the east, the canals to the south, and Commercial and Pearl streets to the west, will include pedestrian paths and an open piazza.

More than a year ago, Governor Cuomo announced $10 million in funding to transform the North Aud Block.

The open house will be held January 22 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Empire State Development Offices at 95 Perry Street, Suite 500.

More details on the project can be found on the ECHDC's website
