Old First Ward parade kicked off Saturday

It marked a triumphant return for the tradition, in Buffalo's Irish neighborhood.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Saint Patrick's Day celebrations continue this weekend with the Old First Ward parade kicking off earlier Saturday in south Buffalo.

It marked a triumphant return for that tradition, in Buffalo's Irish neighborhood.

With the ward full of life it's far from November but there was an air of thanksgiving as the parade made its way down its traditional run.

Even the bomb squad was there to join In the fun as if there wasn't enough to celebrate.

There were 125 floats that went by to the delight of those here who gave out a yell and hoisted a beer, it was a good time to be sure, and what more can one say the luck of the Irish and Happy St. Patrick's Day.
