NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — U.S. Rep. Brian Higgins visited Niagara Falls on Friday to announce $2.5 million in federal funding coming to Niagara Falls State Park.
That money is coming from the Great American Outdoors Act. The park will be getting improved access to the public with new safety measures, extended trails and stairways, and more.
"Every time we are able to create or increase the kind of experience or the volume of tourists and locals who come down here, that's always going to bode well for us and the local economy, whether it's sales tax, or whether there's other opportunities for us to have longer hotel stays," Higgins said.
Niagara Falls State park was awarded the grant by the National Park Service.
