Niagara County Legislator to resign

Lance said that she's getting married at the end of this year and will be starting a new chapter of her life outside of Niagara County.

WHEATFIELD, N.Y. - A Niagara County Legislator announced Friday she is stepping down from her post effective immediately.

Kathryn Lance has been a member of the Niagara County Legislature since 2012.

“It has been an honor to serve the people of Wheatfield and North Tonawanda for the past seven years,” said Lance.

Lance said she's getting married at the end of this year and will be starting a new chapter of her life outside of Niagara County. She regrets that she will be unable to fulfill her term, but is confident the county will continue to move in the right direction.

Majority Leader Randy Bradt said that the process of selecting someone to fill Lance's unexpired term will begin shortly.
