NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — Panhandlers beware, the city of Niagara Falls is cracking down on the act.
The city council passed a bill on Wednesday night that would fine 'aggressive panhandlers' $250 and could lead to 15 days in jail.
Niagara Falls Police Chief Brian DalPorto said beggars have become a big problem in the Cataract City and something needed to be done to keep tourists from being repeatedly pressured to give them money.
