FRIENDSHIP, N.Y. — A Niagara County man was killed in an accident on the I-86 in the Town of Friendship on Wednesday.
New York State Troopers say a 2007 Ford Econoline was traveling eastbound on I-86 and was changing lanes when it hit the front bumper of a tractor-trailer hauling 32 cows.
Both vehicles left the roadway, hit a ditch and then a tree.
The driver of the Econoline, John R. Shaw, 32, of Newfane was ejected from the vehicle. He was declared dead at the scene.
Nine cows also died in the accident.
State Police are still investigating.
