Mother leaves two children in car while visiting inmate

Felicia Maltbie, 29, of Buffalo, is being charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child after she left her 11-year-old and 12-day old unattended in a vehicle Wednesday afternoon.

BUFFALO, N.Y. - A mother has been arrested after leaving her two children alone in a vehicle while she was at the Erie County Correctional facility visiting an inmate.

Felicia Maltbie, 29, of Buffalo, is being charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child after she left her 11-year-old and 12-day old unattended Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities also discovered that Maltbie was driving with a suspended license and also charged her with a misdemeanor count of aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle as well as a vehicle and traffic law violation.

Child Protective Services was contacted and the children were turned over to friends of Maltbie.

Maltbie was taken to the Erie County Holding Center and held on $250 bail.
