BUFFALO, NY - Mayor Byron Brown took a moment to honor a gold medalist Getzville-native on Sunday - by proclaiming it Emily Pfalzer Day!
Pfalzer was part of the gold medal win against team Canada in Pyeongchang, South Korea - marking the first time in 20 years that the U.S. took home the gold.
Mayor Brown said to Pfalzer, "We're so proud to have you in our city," to which she replied, "Thank you, and I'm so proud to be from Buffalo! I'm so excited to march in the parade with everyone and just so thankful for all the support that Buffalo has given me since I was a little girl. So, thank you for helping me reach my dream."
Pfalzer is, of course, team captain of the Buffalo Beauts, who also won Saturday night!
