KeyBank offering free tax preparation

KeyBank employees and volunteers will provide free tax preparation services for low to moderate income individuals and families.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — KeyBank's African American Key Business Impact and Networking Group is teaming up with the University at Buffalo Educational Opportunity Center (UBEOC) on Saturday to help people with their taxes.

KeyBank employees and volunteers will provide free tax preparation services for individuals and families who have low to moderate incomes, helping them determine their eligibility for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC).

Participants should bring the following documents:

  • Valid photo ID
  • Their social security card and the social security cards of each dependent
  • W-2 forms
  • Tax returns from previous years
  • 1099 forms, if applicable
  • Unemployment forms, if applicable
  • Proof of childcare payments
  • Other IRS forms, as appropriate
  • Bank account information and bank routing number

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the UBEOC office located at 555 Ellicott Street in Buffalo.

All tax filers are welcome to attend the event, and individuals do not need to be KeyBank customers. If you cannot make it to this event, don't worry. The UBEOC will also provide free tax preparation assistance throughout tax season.
