Kenmore West has a staff/student run thrift store

There is a thrift store inside Kenmore West High School and all of the items are free for students.

KENMORE, N.Y. - Kenmore West High School has a staff-student run thrift store. It's called KW Freestyle and everything is free.

Inside the second-floor thrift store there are clothes, brand new sneakers, purses, jeans and winter coats.

Teacher Kimberly Zuccari said the idea came about when "one of the other teachers in the building made the suggestion over social media and a bunch of us others jumped on and said we would be interested in helping out."

The school paired up with Ken-Ton Closet and received donations from Plato's Closet. Teachers have also donated gently worn clothes.

Students can shop in the thrift store during lunch and study hall. Emily Forney is a student, who also works in the store, and has picked up items.

"I like that there is such a variety of different styles," Forney said.

School officials say there is a need for more teen clothes, especially hoodies. Donations are accepted, but the school would like for the students to bring in the donations.

There are also some school supplies in the store.
