Gerard Place Community Center opens on city's east side

An official ribbon cutting was held Monday following the completion of the Gerard Place Community Center on Bailey Avenue.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — An old parish hall on Buffalo's east side has a new purpose.

An official ribbon cutting was held Monday following the completion of the Gerard Place Community Center on Bailey Avenue. 

Gerard Place will help eliminate barriers that prevent residents from escaping poverty.

The $6 million project received more than $1.75 million from New York State for the construction and developments.
