GRAND ISLAND, NY — A hazmat crew was on the scene of a gas leak on Baseline Road in Grand Island on Thursday evening.
According to fire officials, there was a pinhole in a gas line that crews have since repaired. Baseline Road was closed from East Ferry to Oakfield Road and some residences in the area were evacuated.
The leak did not impact water supply in the area and residents have now been told that it's safe to return home.
