Former WNY congressman remembers Bush 41

As the nation says goodbye to President George H.W. Bush, a former Western New York congressman remembers his time with the former President.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Former Western New York Congressman Jack Quinn had a chance to get to know former President George H.W. Bush during his time in Washington.

Quinn says Bush left a lasting impression on him from the very first time they met.

"The first invitation [for the GOP freshman class of congressmen] was from President Bush. He wanted the new group to come over and be in the oval office of the president of the United States," said Quinn. "And he was so gracious to all of us to move around. He took individual pictures with all of us."

Quinn added, "and he said on the way out of the door, be nice to those democrats. You're going to need them."
