OLEAN, N.Y. -- A former Olean teacher has been sentenced after he pleaded guilty to a criminal sex act charge.
Robert Washington was accused of having sexual contact with a 13-year-old boy. He originally faced six counts of sex abuse and other charges.
On Monday, he was sentenced to six months in jail, 10 years probation and a 10-year order of protection was filed for the victim, whose name will not be released.
Washington will also have to register as a sex offender. His level will be determined at a later hearing.
In April, Washington pleaded guilty to a single charge of third-degree criminal sexual act. In June 2016, 2 On Your Side learned Washington had given a statement of admission to an Olean Police captain.
