Former Gabryszak Staffer Pleased with Fine

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The attorney representing one of the women who is suing former Assemblyman Dennis Gabryszak says she's happy the Legislative Ethics Commission wants him to pay a $100,000 fine.

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The attorney representing one of the women who is suing former Assemblyman Dennis Gabryszak says she's happy the Legislative Ethics Commission wants him to pay a $100,000 fine.

Attorney Prathima Reddy represents one of the seven women who sued Gabryszak for sexual harassment. She has filed suit in both the court of claims and in federal court for her client.

Reddy says they are in the middle of discovery in both cases, and they are hopeful the findings of the ethics commission can help move the case forward.

"My client is willing to be more than reasonable, so in terms of getting to a conclusion, it's just a matter of all coming to the table and agreeing and like I said, the AG's office has been open to that so we're hoping that that moves along," says Reddy.

Reddy did not say how much money her client was looking for in a settlement.

Gabryszak resigned two years ago after the women came forward. He has since been fined by the ethics commission for the sexual harassment allegations and using public resources for his re-election campaign.
