Fireworks arrests made over the weekend in Jamestown

A joint detail between the Jamestown Police and New York State Police resulted in seven arrests for transporting fireworks.

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — Following numerous complaints from the community, New York State Police and Jamestown Police conducted a detail over the weekend.

It took place Saturday from Noon until 5 PM and resulted in seven arrests for illegally transporting fireworks into New York State. All of those charged were issued appearance tickets to report to court at a later date.

In addition, a large quantity of fireworks was seized and were turned over to the NYSP Bomb Disposal Unit to be destroyed.
