'We R Buffalo Strong' makes music video

We R Buffalo Strong made a music video at a local high school to spread awareness about homelessness in Buffalo.

BUFFALO NY - The non-profit We R Buffalo Strong is working to spread an important message through music.

The organization shot a music video for a new catchy jingle that embodies both the Buffalo spirit and the story of its founder Evette Phillips.

The non-profit was created five years ago and helps to feed and clothe the homeless in Buffalo.

Since it's inception, Phillips says the need to support the homeless has only gotten greater. "We used to serve 75 to 80 people. Now each time we go it's 250 or more people we're feeding every two weeks. To date my organization has fed 6,643 souls on the streets of Buffalo."

In order to spread the word, the non-profit is using social media to make a viral music video.

"Music always brings people together so why not come out and be part of it and make history," said Phillips.

The jingle was written by two local artists and represents Phillips story. "He got words from all my other interviews and newspaper clippings and and put them into a song" said Phillips.

"It will be in my head for the remainder of the day, the rest of the week and the rest of the year. I love it," said Erie County Legislator Barbara Miller-Williams.
