City Honors will reopen Thursday after temporary power outage

City Honors was closed Wednesday but pending repair, the school will reopen for classes on Thursday.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — City Honors #195 has temporarily lost power in some portions of the building as a result of a contractor in the area damaging an underground power line.

Due to that, the school will be closed Wednesday but pending repair, the school said they were expecting to have classes Thursday.

On Wednesday night, Buffalo Public Schools made it official with a tweet:

"City Honors #195 notified families that classes will resume tomorrow, Thursday, September 16.  Electrical problem is resolved."

District officials and Ferguson Electric on Wednesday worked on a solution to the issue, which required a new line to be installed. The new line was expected to arrive Wednesday.
