BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Fire Department responded to a blaze Sunday morning at a vacant house on the city's East Side.

Firefighters responded to a report of heavy fire coming out of the side of a house on Laurel Street near Masten Avenue around 6:30 a.m.

Buffalo Fire Division Chief Peter Kertzie said there was a car in the driveway, but no one was inside the house. He said the house had electricity, but the gas had been turned off, making him believe the house is vacant.

No injuries have been reported at this time, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
