Buffalo Fire battles 2-alarm fire on Lester Street

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Firefighters from the Buffalo Fire Department were called to a two-alarm fire Sunday morning at a house on the city's East Side. 

The fire broke out at 44 Lester Street just after 7 a.m., causing an estimated $190,000 in damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Fire officials say two houses sustained exposure damage totalling $50,000.

The Red Cross is assisting 12 adults and two children.
