Buffalo & Erie County libraries hold vote on new card designs

A total of 175 entries have been whittled down 28 finalists: 14 adult designs and 14 children's designs. One winner will be picked from each group.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo & Erie County Public Library System is seeking the public's help in picking two new designs for its library cards.

The library system recently sought designs from the public. Now those 175 entries have been whittled down 28 finalists: 14 adult designs and 14 children's designs. Anyone who votes can pick one design from each group.

The vote began November 9 and runs through Sunday, November 17.

The winning designs will be revealed in January.

The contest was open to Erie County residents who are older than 5 years old, and any entries from people who are 17 years old or younger were required to have a parent or guardian sign the entry form.

The person or people with the winning entry will receive a $50 gift card from Amazon, as well as a special library card and poster that features their own design.
