Blood donors to get 'Fast Pass' at the DMV

Erie County Clerk Mickey Kearns is partnering with ConnectLife to give people an incentive to donate blood by giving out fast passes to the auto bureau.

ERIE COUNTY, N.Y. — For those who hate waiting in line at the DMV, this could be a solution for you.

Erie County Clerk, Mickey Kearns, announced that starting October 1, the Erie County Auto Bureaus will be offering a Fast Pass to anyone who donates blood at a ConnectLife Neighborhood Blood Donation Center.

The hope is that this "Fast Pass Program" will encourage people to donate blood. ConnectLife has become the primary supplier of blood products to Kaleida Health and many of our major hospitals.

In the U.S., a patient will need blood every two seconds. That means 41,000 donations are required each day to meet this need.

The Fast Pass will be good for 45 days after a person donates blood, and donors can bring it to any of the six auto bureau locations across Erie County to receive an express number.

ConnectLife’s Neighborhood Blood Donation Centers:

  • Southgate Plaza, West Seneca
  • Eastern Hills Mall, Williamsville
  • 96 Niagara Street, Tonawanda
