BFD responds to house fire in Polonia district

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Five people are being helped by the Red Cross following a fire in the city's Polonia district.

Buffalo fire crews responded to a house fire at 30 Sobieski Street at around 6:30 Friday morning.

The fire started on the second floor of the home. Everybody who lives in the house, two parents and three kids, got out safe. No firefighters were injured.

The fire is estimated to have caused $50,000 in damage. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
