BUFFALO, NY - An East Side health center is now a lot closer to being finished - thanks to a generous gift.
The Jericho Road Community Health Center just announced it got a $100,000 donation, and a $2 million loan from M & T Bank.
Those funds will get work going to build a medical suite, and patient pharmacy in the vacant building near the Broadway Market, with big plans beyond that.
"We have a dream that this building will be filled up 110,000 square feet of medical space: a wellness center, a dental clinic, not-for-profits coming together, radiology with Western New York MRI...that all of us together may employ 500 people. Imagine what that'll look like one day when this place is bustling and this building is full," said Jericho Road Health Center Founder, Dr. Myron Glick.
The health center should open up this summer, and the pharmacy is expected to open next summer.
