Benefit held for Buffalo firefighter fighting pancreatic cancer

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A benefit was held on Sunday for a Buffalo firefighter who is fighting pancreatic cancer.

The firefighter, 42-year-old Jonathan Donaldson, was diagnosed in July after experiencing stomach pains.

Though he is undergoing treatment at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, he will have to travel if he wants to avail himself of clinical trials to combat the stage four cancer, and that's what folks were aiming to help him do today.

"It's mostly traveling, hotel stays expenses that will incur from being on the road," said his brother, Jeff Donaldson.

Prior to joining the fire department in 2011, Donaldson served in the Marine Corps.
