BUFFALO, N.Y. — After the strong cold front that moved through Thursday evening, chilly temperatures, calm winds and a mostly clear sky Friday night could allow for frost across portions of Western New York.
A Frost Advisory just expired for Southern Erie, Chautauqua, Genesee and Orleans counties. It's in these counties where widespread frost may have developed overnight Friday, with temperatures falling into the low 30s overnight.
Patchy frost is still possible across the region depending on how cold temperatures get locally. So it wouldn't be a bad idea to cover plants or bring them inside tonight even if your county is not included in the advisory. Any clouds that develop overnight could limit and keep temperatures just out of range for frost.
