A familiar face will be back to host the third hour of NBC morning show "Today."
Al Roker will be moving back to the 9 a.m. time slot, nearly three months after NBC canceled "Megyn Kelly Today." USA TODAY reports he'll be joined MSNBC anchor Craig Melvin, NBC News meteorologist Dylan Dreyer and NBC News correspondent Sheinelle Jones.
Dreyer tweeted a teaser about the news, Monday, writing, "Hope you don’t mind these faces! You’ll be seeing a lot of them at 9am. Please join us!"
Roker, used to host the third hour with Tamron Hall before Kelly joined the NBC network. While USA TODAY reports NBC has not formally fired Kelly, the former host's show was ousted from the time slot after her controversial comments defending blackface in Halloween costumes during a panel on her show.
The backlash was fierce, and through Kelly apologized on air the following day, the show was still canceled two days later.
