BUFFALO, NY-- A Buffalo woman in jail for allegedly stabbing another woman at a house party is accused of assaulting an Erie County Holding Center Sergeant.

Areyona Favors is in jail following her arrest in connection with a fatal stabbing on Schreck Avenue this past August.

Deputies say that during an incident in the visitation room at the holding center on Wednesday, Favors was told leave. She allegedly began yelling profanities and became non-compliant. Officials removed Favors to her housing unit, but deputies say she became uncooperative and threatened deputies.

While trying to restrain Favors, deputies say she started kicking and kicked a sergeant in the lower body.

Favors was taken to the jail's infirmary for evaluation, where she allegedly kicked and damaged medical equipment.

The sergeant was taken to ECMC for treatment of a leg injury.

Favors is charged with assault. She will be arraigned on new charges November 9. She is currently be held without bail on murder charge.
