Suspect in alleged road rage assault appears in court

The man who is being accused of assaulting another man after a road rage incident in Cheektowaga last week appeared in court Thursday.

The man was charged with second-degree assault after he allegedly was involved in some kind of traffic incident with Matthew Rudy.

The hearing that happened Thursday afternoon has been adjourned.

Police say after that first incident, they believe  allegedly pinned Rudy's car in the left lane and beat Rudy viciously enough that he needed to be taken to ECMC with a number of very serious facial injuries, some that required surgery.
